Lake Bicaz was cleaned up considerably between 2010 and 2020. The water of lake Bicaz is used as a source for drinking water and is therefore tested frequently. Reports from testing are available to the public, below 2 examples from 2021.
Swimming in the lake should be perfectly safe but is of course your own responsibility. The lake is opened for water sports. The water in the house should be safe for consumption, yet it is quite common to buy bottled water from the local shops.
